Help! I have a Reactive Dog

Hosted By: Humane Society of Utah
September 26, 2026
10:30 AM
- 2:30 PM
$60 working spot, $40 general spot

Is your dog barking, lunging, growling, and staring at people, dogs or other triggers?

Come and join the Humane Society of Utah for a brand-new two-day workshop to learn about your reactive dog and how you can help them build confidence, emotional regulation, and better communication.

  • Spend the first day learning how to set your dog up for success before the walk starts, how to use pattern games using positive reinforcement techniques, and how to support your dog before, during, and after your dog has a reaction.
  • You will have three weeks to work with your dog at home, practicing these exercises before returning to HSU for part 2.
  • In part 2, we will review how the weeks went for you, questions you have, successes, struggles, and how to progress these games and your skills.

There are two options for enrollment:

$60 – Working spots will have the opportunity to work with shelter dogs on these skills in class and will submit a 3-minute video for review in class for part 2. (Only 5 available!)

$40- Regular Admission will be able to attend both days and ask questions.

Please Note:

All spots are for people only. Please leave your dogs at home and come learn without distractions.

Each regular admission/working spot is for one seat in the class. Families, couples, and household members will need to secure a spot for each person who wants to attend.
