Dog Friendly Housing in Salt Lake City

Home is where your dog is and thankfully one thing Salt Lake City does not have a shortage of is dog friendly housing. A quick search of Google or any popular apartment site brings up many dog friendly properties- and they often have small dog parks on site! However many apartment complexes restrict breeds like pitbulls, dobermans, and rottweilers, which is not exactly what we’d consider dog friendly.

In 2015, the Utah State Legislature enacted a law that prohibited cities and municipalities from making breed specific ordinances, however that doesn’t mean privately owned housing cannot discriminate against them. So if you are a pitbull or other “aggressive breed” owner looking for a Salt Lake metro apartment with NO breed restrictions, here are the ones we know!

Private Rentals

Obviously private dog friendly rentals are a great way to go if you have a breed typically blacklisted by traditional apartment complexes. The most popular site for local rentals is Rentler (which is what KSL Classifieds directs to), however checking Zillow and driving around local neighborhoods is also recommended.
